The Women and Children Dasara Sub-Committee has organised a women and children’s Dasara from 13 to 16 October at the JK Grounds here.

Urban Development Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the Rangoli competition on 13 October at 6 pm. He will also inaugurate the State function on the same day at 11 am. Chamaraja MLA K Harishgowda will preside over the function, and MLA TS Srivatsa will be the chief guest. 

Women Development Corporation chairperson Padmavathi will inaugurate stalls at 6 pm.

On 15 October, the committee will organise a fancy dress competition, a walkathon by Kamsale artistes, and a cultural programme by disabled children at 11.30 am.

On 16 October, the committee will organise cultural events, games for senior citizens and women, interaction with former V-C Dr Padma Shekhar and distribution of prizes.

YOGA DASARA 

The Yoga Dasara Sub Committee will organise Yoga Dasara from 14 to 19 October in Mysuru and Nanjangud.

The special officer for the Yoga Dasara Sub Committee, Ramya, said that Health Minister UT Khader will inaugurate the event on 14 October at 10 am at the Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI). 

Participants can register online for the competition. Cash prizes of Rs. 3,000, Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 2,000 will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners, respectively.
